This term our Inquiry topic is CHANGE. We have been looking at how matter changes from one state to another. So far we have learnt that there are three states of matter - solids, liquids and gas. The particles inside solid objects are packed close together which is why solid things take a shape and volume. Liquids are a bit different, the particles of matter are close together, but not as close as solids which means the force of attraction is weaker. Therefore liquids have a volume but not a definite shape. In gases, the particles of matter are very far apart which means the force of attraction is very weak. Gases don't have a weight or shape. We have also discovered that change is either physical or chemical and is either reversible or irreversible.
